Emergency Response Plans
Water systems keep our cities running. Rhea works with both public and private clients on a range of water resources, including dams, treatment plants, drinking water distribution systems, wastewater systems, and stormwater drainage.
In the planning stages, Rhea offers sustainable stormwater designs that reduce flood risk, as well as permitting assistance and environmental assessments of development sites. Rhea also works closely with clients to evaluate existing systems, identifying problems, and planning solutions.
Dam Maintenance Program Development + Implementation
Rhea oversaw a complex dam maintenance project, including the controlled drawdown of the reservoir, and developed plans to deal with seepage, erosion, and overgrown vegetation at the site.
Environmental Screening for Planned Water Infrastructure Improvements
Rhea conducted an Environmental Screening over a large area with an extensive industrial history, using a diverse set of publicly available environmental resources to identify areas of potential risk.
Public Plaza Low-Impact Stormwater Design
Rhea developed a green, low-impact stormwater management plan for a commercial plaza in Pittsburgh, reducing flood risk and benefitting both residents and businesses.
Military Stormwater Support, Mapping, + Discharge Study
Rhea was tasked with surveying and mapping the stormwater infrastructure at a large military installation in Maryland, and with preparing a system to detect and eliminate illicit discharges.
Harrisburg International Airport Obstruction Removal Project
Rhea’s contributions allowed for a successful collaboration of municipal, state and federal interests. Our recommendations included updated and innovative Best Management Practices that ultimately have improved the local environment.
Morgantown Runway Extension Stormwater Design
When a regional airport needed to increase its capacity, Rhea provided stormwater designs and plans for erosion and pollution management for their new 1,001-foot runway extension.
Holy Trinity Stormwater Management + Permitting
Rhea was chosen to perform stormwater design analysis for a proposed site development undergoing changes — avoiding potential impacts to existing wetlands and designing an underground stormwater system modeled through five design storm conditions.
PA Turnpike Stormwater Evaluation + Improvements
Rhea was tasked with identifying drainage problems and solutions at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Homewood Maintenance Facility related to stormwater and vehicle wash water.
Stormwater Evaluation at Remnant City Carpet
Rhea conducted a watershed and runoff analysis to identify necessary improvements to the drainage system of an iconic local business and prevent future flood damage.
